To take advantage of the tools and services in Academic Writer, we recommend that you write your paper in the Writing Center.
To avoid various unpredictable errors in the formatting, fonts and figures, Academic Writer doesn't have an option to import a paper.
If you started a paper elsewhere, you can paste plain text in the paper editor. Make sure you paste as plain text to avoid any unexpected errors in your exported paper. You'll see a prompt to do so when you use the paste function.
If your paper includes citations, you'll want to relink your citations to references in your Academic Writer account to make sure they're included in your paper's formatted reference list.
Additionally, you should avoid pasting formatted text in your references, tables, figures, footnotes, and appendices. You can paste text into a plain text editor like Notepad (PC) or Text Edit (Mac) to remove formatting before pasting in Academic Writer.
