If you purchased an access code (usually through your school or bookstore) to use Academic Writer in a course, you do not need to sign up on academicwriterdirect.com. Academic Writer Direct is for individual subscriptions only, and it will not give you access to course assignments.
So how do I get access for my course?
If your instructor told you to use Academic Writer as part of your course, you need to use the links provided in your learning management system (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.). This will allow you to complete assigned work for credit in your class. Access codes can be purchased through your institution's bookstore.
Visit your learning management system
Select a link or assignment for Academic Writer
Register for Academic Writer (or log in) when prompted
You will then be prompted to enter your access code, or provide payment if you don't have a code.
For more information on access codes, check out this site help article for students in an Academic Writer course.
What if I accidentally signed up on academicwriterdirect.com?
Once you've confirmed that you have access to Academic Writer through your course, you'll want to cancel the separate Academic Writer Direct subscription so you don't get charged twice. Here's how:
Visit academicwriterdirect.com/my-account
Provide your login credentials
Select My Subscription in the menu on the left
Select Cancel
Confirm your cancelation
