The Check My Writing tool can evaluate the body of your paper beyond the services provided by the spelling and grammar check tool. You can access Check My Writing in the Main Menu to the left of the paper editor with other Check tools like Check Headings Order and Match Reference Citations.
Check My Writing evaluates
The average reading level,
The use of clichés and redundancies,
The use of repeats,
Sentence variety, and
Transitions.
Depending on what the analysis is checking for, you'll see results in several different ways. Some reports are informational and have a blue "i" icon; others check for a recommended threshold and show a red or green icon depending on whether that threshold is met.
When viewing report results, you can filter to show only specific analyses or errors only.
If you update text in the body of your paper while Check My Writing is open, you can recheck it by selecting Run Report Again.
