The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) does not require a running head for student assignments. In Academic Writer, papers started as student assignments (instead of professional manuscripts) do not include the running head. You can add a running head to your paper if your instructor requires it.

From the Main Menu, select Write, then the Title Page option.

Use the checkbox below the date to include the running head in your paper then enter your running head in the field below the title.
